Grateful Inconvenience

In 2006, Nate Griffin & Stephen Proctor joined forces to launch a creative production company known as gi*inc, short for "Grateful Inconvenience". But this would be no ordinary company.

Grateful Inconvenience is a reminder. For us it describes what the act of serving is all about as it relates to real life. It is a reminder of the Glorious Inconvenience of the Cross.

Very seldom do any of us come across an opportunity to reach out to another person in need that it does not in some way interfere with the schedule for our lives. More often than not, ministry costs us something. It is only when we choose to participate in the opportunities that come our way each day that there is a renewed sense of gratefulness in our own hearts for what Christ has done for us.

The very inconvenience of reaching out to another fills our own hearts with a grateful joy upon remembering why we are even in a position to be able to reach out to and love those around us. God is on a quest to obliterate our agenda for ourselves so that in turn He might fill us with an eternal joy and perfect fulfillment through service to others.

So you see, Grateful Inconvenience is much more than a company…it is a way of life. And we let this permeate every facet of our business…no matter where it takes us or what it looks like.

In 2006 Nate co-founded gi inc. with Stephen Proctor. Together they have grown their company into a successful production and design firm based in Nashville TN. Nate has developed a reputation as a creative producer for both still and motion photography and the live environment.

He has produced sets for many major artists including Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Lionel Richie and Dave Matthews. His set designs have been featured on MTV, VH1, CMT and ABC. Nate, has produced documentary and commercial spots in many locations around the world including Africa, North Korea and China. He has spent the last year living in China for the purpose of developing a strong network of production contacts in China and Hong Kong. Nate's goal is always to present the client with the most creative interpretation for their production needs. Because of his international experience and network he and his team are able to present each client with a highly customized production plan.

Stephen is an illuminator whose primary focus is designing & VJ-ing immersive experiences using projection & media. At the heart, Stephen is a curator of visual worship who seeks to unleash people’s imaginations through moments of wonder & astonishment. Much of his work is done in collaboration with artists & authors such as Gungor, All Sons & Daughters, Beth Moore, Travis Cottrell, & Glenn Packiam. He is also involved with a few missional organizations who are shining the light of Jesus in the darkest areas of this world.

This has opened up many opportunities for Stephen to travel across the earth, which has fueled his ever-expanding worldview, his addiction to adventure, & his love for coffee. Though the road goes ever on & on, Stephen loves to come home to Nashville where he spends much of his time writing, blogging, & creating spaces for conversation. He also volunteers on the creative arts team at his church, Journey.

Stephen's curiosity drives him; he relentlessly asks inconvenient questions that challenge the status quo & mundane. His days are filled with conversations on the role art & beauty plays in today's spiritual culture. This has opened the door for Stephen to speak at various creative gatherings, such as Luminous Project, ECHO & National Worship Leaders Conference.
